Farming for a sustainable future webinar with William Cracroft-Eley

Miscanthus specialist, Terravesta, has launched a live webinar, to take place on Thursday 29 October at 18:00 to discuss the steps needed to build a sustainable future in farming.

Agriculture has been widely positioned as a key part of the solution to the threat of global warming, and William Cracroft-Eley, Lincolnshire farmer and Terravesta chairman, will speak candidly in the webinar about his vision for the next three decades of change in agriculture and land-use to meet government net zero targets.

“Agricultural is faced with colossal challenges. A growing population which needs feeding, catastrophic biodiversity loss and the threat of climate emergency,” says William.

“If we are to be net zero by 2050, we will need carbon neutral products and processes in place at the same time as carbon sequestration from the feedstocks, and to do this we need industry and farmers on board now.

“As we move away from a fossil-based to a plant-based economy, Miscanthus presents huge potential,” adds William.

William is an authority on Miscanthus and is involved with international research programmes to test its viability to offer sustainable business opportunities for farmers and industry. In the webinar he will be joined by Terravesta’s operations director, Alex Robinson, and after William’s presentation, both speakers will invite questions from the viewers.
