Our key speaker is Roddy McLean, Director of Agriculture for NatWest who will be presenting on ‘2018 & Beyond – The Challenges and Opportunities for Agriculture’.

Roddy has over 40 years association with farming, having stated out working on an upland beef & sheep farm in the Scottish Borders in his early teens. On leaving school he worked as a GFW before going to University to study agriculture. Following the completion of his studies he spent 21 years working in agricultural business consultancy in NE Scotland (during which time he managed a small arable, pig & soft fruit farm) and the Scottish Borders. He has been with the Bank almost 14 years and is our Director of Agriculture.

Roddy is responsible for updating all areas of the bank regarding the farming sector. He helps to shape the Bank’s policy towards farming and gets involved in some of the larger or unusual funding requests. His roots are in agriculture - before joining NatWest he worked for some twenty years in an agricultural consultancy in NE Scotland and at home in the Eastern Scottish Borders.

There will be a Q&A session at the end, to allow you to ask any of our speakers any burning questions you may have.
