After the success of Harvest LIVE! 2021, you are invited you to join us again for two new, free and engaging, curriculum-aligned live lessons from NFU Education and hi-impact consultancy.

Each lesson will take your learners on an adventure through the countryside to explore the fascinating journey their food takes to reach their plates and meet the people responsible for producing it.

Do your students know how porridge is made? Or where carrots comes from? In these interactive live lessons, we will take pupils behind the scenes of real British farms and use the amazing world of farming and food production to deliver key STEM curriculum objectives.

Key Stage 1 learners are invited to meet farmer Hannah, learn all about what happens during a cereals harvest and join children from around the globe to make the world’s biggest combine harvester! And Key Stage 2 children will be stepping into the wonderful world of carrots to discover how they are grown, processed, and packed. They will take part in a nationwide science investigation and take an exclusive trip to Louise the scientist’s research field to develop their working scientifically skills and learn how farmers are using cutting-edge science and technology to fight climate change.

Both lessons include downloadable curriculum-linked teaching resources to use before, during and after the live lessons and there will be lots of opportunities for children to interact with our expert speakers.

Livestream.co.uk is the NFU's chosen live stream provider, and the lessons will be embedded into a custom-built platform that will allow teachers and children to ask questions, request shout-outs, take part in quizzes and polls and to access supporting resources. There will be plenty more live lessons available in the coming months from the NFU and others, all free and all linked to the curriculum. Keep an eye on livestream.co.uk for new releases or sign up to the mailing list to be made aware.
